Montreal Canadians goaltender Carey Price posted an Instagram photo with his daughter on Wednesday. Many were quick to notice Price, 33 had a "No Compromise" flag hanging on his wall.

Kristy Snell, a radio news anchor and editor at CBC Montreal posted the image to Twitter in an apparent attempt to blow up concerns.

The logo, registered by the National Firearms Association, is a combination of the maple leaf and a rifle. It also includes the statement "No Compromise".

Sheldon Clare, President of the NFA, told The Post Millennial that the "No Compromise slogan used by the NFA originates from our long held position that firearms owners can no longer continue to have our firearm rights taken away by successive gun bans.  When gun grabbers seek compromise, they never give anything up; it's always about the firearms community giving up property and rights."

When Sheldon was first elected NFA president back in 2010, he stated that there can be "no compromise" when it comes to firearms ownership. "We will not see any firearms owner sacrificed as a short term expedient to appease those who seek civil disarmament. Our No Compromise logo and slogan has become the symbol of the Canadian pro-firearms rights movement.  People display our No Compromise logo with stickers, on clothing, and some have even tattooed it on their bodies.  We sell No Compromise products and more at nfa.ca to support our fight against bad gun laws."

Many attacked Carey Price for supporting what they call "American-style gun culture" and his desire to import it into Canada after mass shootings in the USA.

Others had Carey's back, many of them legal firearm owners. One man on Twitter said Carey's support for firearms rights in Canada has convinced him to buy a #31 Habs jersey.

"It shows a desire to stand up for the shooting sports and licensed, responsible firearms ownership. There is also much more to shooting than hunting. Many licensed Canadian firearms owners prefer to enjoy target shooting instead. It's a safe, enjoyable sport", a Canadian veteran replied on Twitter.

Price is of the Nuxalk and Southern Carrier Aboriginal heritage and is "very proud to be of the descent from the line of chiefs and leaders including his mother, Lynda." Indigenous Canadians use firearms for hunting and ultimately for feeding their families.

Sheldon Clare of the NFA stated: "I am pleased to see Carey Price displaying our No Compromise flag, and engaging in teaching the young about the long-time Canadian traditions of safe and responsible firearms use and advocacy.  Carey, firearm owners are proud of you, and thank you for standing up to those shrill thugs who would bully you over your right to support firearms ownership."
