A child who goes to a daycare in the Cap-Rouge sector of Quebec has tested positive for coronavirus according to Le Journal.
On Monday, the Public Health Department of the Capital-Nationale sent two letters through management to workers and parents of students who attend the Marguerite-D’youville school or the daycare.
A memo from the school’s principal said, “A person attending the daycare service at Marguerite-D'Youville school (Le Provancel) is currently suffering from COVID-19. The Direction de la santé publique of the CIUSSS de la Capitale-Nationale has taken charge of the situation and is transmitting its directives to us.”
It has been recommended that the children who attend the daycare—and their parents—enter a voluntary isolation.
The Direction de la Sante Publique suggested that students who attend the school, but not the daycare, continue with “daily symptom monitoring” until March 26
“If the person being monitored (yourself or your child) has symptoms such as cough, fever or difficulty breathing, call the COVID-10 line at 1-877-644-4545. An evaluation will be made and an appointment will be given for a sample. If the state of health deteriorates, for example severe shortness of breath, contact 911 mentioning the exposure to a case of COVID-19.”
