CNN misrepresents the shooting death of a man in San Bernardino

CNN reported that a Hispanic man was shot and killed by members of the San Bernardino Police Department (SBPD) Saturday evening, but did not provide photos to give context to the situation.

Officers responded after receiving a dispatch that a white man was waving a firearm around. When they arrived, they apparently found a suspect "matching the description" to be holding what looked to be a black handgun, according to the SBPD Twitter post.

The incident resulted in the shooting death of a Hispanic man, who was originally described as being white.

What is curious is that CNN did not provide photo-context for their breaking story on this incident.

In the photo, a man can be clearly seen holding and pointing what appears to be a gun.

The SBPD was within jurisdiction to use lethal force on a man who was brandishing and pointing a firearm.
