Stand-up comedian Jim Jefferies is back to his old tricks after he was caught in 2019 stealth editing an interview with journalist Avi Yemini. Jefferies then refused to apologize or remove the doctored video since the incident.

Yemini's segment with Jefferies was aired during the comedian's episode about the Christchurch massacre on the third season premiere of The Jim Jefferies Show.

Jefferies's topical late night series on Comedy Central was described by Deadline Hollywood as an "unapologetic, honest and international approach to culture and politics" that "tackles the week's top stories from behind the desk and travels the globe to far-off locations to provide unique looks at hypocrisy around the world." The faux news comedy show took aim at American and international culture with a progressive bent, leaving little room for the political opposition.

The show flew Yemini to Singapore for an interview several months before the episode's premiere. Comparison of the footage shot by Jefferies and that from Yemini's hidden phone show that some of the questions asked were aired with answers that Yemini gave to different questions.

Yemini's video airing the secret recording that he taped of the interview has since amassed more than 2 million views on YouTube, revealing that Jefferies is a hypocrite who mocked Islam himself and even drew a cartoon of the prophet Mohammed in an attempt to egg Yemini on.

"When I showed the world what he had done, instead of removing the defamatory segment and apologizing for his disgusting behaviour, he hid like the absolute coward he is," Yemini prefaces the latest update on the comedian's whereabouts.

Jefferies even blocked anyone on social media who dared mention the scandal. But after years of inactivity, Jefferies has decided to strike back at Rebel News.

"It turns out that I've been living rent-free in his head for the past two and a half years," Yemini writes. "But in typical Jim Jefferies style, he's taken a shot at me and distorted the truth AGAIN from the comfort and refuge of his private studio and not to my face." Yemini then deconstructs the stand-up comedian's most recent "laughable" claims in the takedown video Sunday.

In an episode of I Don't Know About That with Jim Jefferies uploaded on May 25 that discusses World War II, the eponymous host complained about Yemini during the opening segment. "Ah, f— me, this guy! He says we edited him the wrong way and all this stuff. His answer was the same way either way," Jefferies said.

"My answer was the same either way?" reacted Yemini in the responding Rebel News video. "That literally makes no sense, Jim. If it was the same either way, why'd you have to edit it?" questioned Yemini further.

Jefferies went on to allege that Yemini edited Jefferies in the same unethical fashion as Yemini claimed that Jefferies committed. Yemini responded by fact checking Jefferies on every promise he made before the interview was conducted.

"You included neo-Nazis in the segment. You tied it to the Christchurch massacre. You cut my answers and pasted them to suit your agenda. So no," Yemini countered. "...And I wasn't interviewing you, so how the heck could I have pasted your answers from one question to another?" he asked.

Yemini's original video did provide examples from the interview of Jefferies saying shocking statements. "If I was the one interviewing, I could have done a far worse number on you," Yemini fired back at Jefferies.

Jefferies called on Yemini to release the full interview. Yemini then questioned why Jefferies needs Yemini to "re-release" the video when he claims to have it.

Yemini had published the entire interview on Patreon and has yet to take it down. "It proves that you cut the interview..." Yemini said to Jefferies

Jefferies stated that if Yemini uploads the full interview to YouTube, he is welcome on the podcast and the two will talk for 45 minutes to discuss what happened. "Otherwise, I don't believe I've done anything wrong," Jefferies declared.

"The bottom line is: I don't have to prove anything. You do. No one believes a word you say, mainly, because you banned and blocked anyone who asked about it publicly. I'm not referring to your mainstream media journalist mates..." Yemini rebutted. "I'm talking about real people. They know that you're a disgrace."

Yemini then referred to when Jefferies appeared on Conan and was ratio'ed by 15,000 dislikes and almost 4,000 comments on the video interview posted to YouTube. A majority of viewers called out Jefferies in the comment section.

The Jim Jefferies show was cancelled by Comedy Central after just three seasons.

"Jim Jefferies has never answered for what he did to Avi. NEVER," commented YouTube podcaster Sydney Watson on Yemini's announcement.

"He also has never been held to account for getting Avi and me DETAINED BY THE FBI. Watching this video enrages me all over again. I want this story resurrected and I want everyone going after this clown. Let's go!" she said.
