Connecticut elementary school teacher resigns over critical race theory agenda

“Why are we teaching our children that the color of their skin matters more than who they are as a person?” asked Jen Tafuto.

The crusade on the education system by far left activists, with the mission to radicalize young people into racial activism, has caused a teacher to quit the profession.

The video published by 1776ActionOrg came out at the start of the week.

"After six years as a teacher in Connecticut, I decided to resign from what I thought would be my forever career because I felt more like a political activist than a teacher in my own classroom," Jen Tafuto is quoted as saying.

She goes on to say she comes from a family of people who worked in the education field. It certainly wasn’t the students themselves or the community that made Tafuto decide to quit. Rather, she said, it’s the racial politics agenda that’s forcing students to separate themselves based on their skin color.

(Below is an example of this type of teaching in action in a classroom setting, but not a direct example of Jen Tafuto’s situation in Connecticut.)

“Parents deserve to know that their children are going to school each day to learn, not to be brainwashed,” Tafuto continues.

Jen calls out school system administrators as being the culprit in pushing the ideological dogma. She says she wanted to be a teacher to teach kids Language Arts and Math, not to make them political activists.

Jen Tafuto says students are forced to identify characters in the stories they read based on their skin color, too. She goes on to say that this injection of racial rhetoric is unnatural in the conversations teachers have with seven and eight year olds.

Books like White Fragility and the works of Ibram X. Kendi are said to be mandatory reading.

“Why are we teaching our children that the color of their skin matters more than who they are as a person?” Jen Tafuto asks. “Teachers, we owe it to our students to speak up because they are the future of our country.”

This response statement by the district spokesman of Manchester Public Schools was published by local media.

Jim Farrell says their school system “recognizes its responsibility to address in grade- and age-appropriate ways issues that include racism, inequities, discrimination and systemic bias. We proudly do so while also practicing culturally responsive and relevant teaching, affirming students’ ethnic and racial backgrounds and including appropriately varied cultural references in all aspects of learning.”

In related news, two California teachers were exposed by Project Veritas this week as political partisans pushing their particular worldviews in the classroom. Kristin Pitzen made her students pledge allegiance to the Pride flag instead of the American flag. Gabriel Gipe lost his job after it was discovered he turned his classroom space into a den of Antifa worship.

Both Pitzen and Gipe have been removed with their situations being investigated.
