The Conservative Party of Canada has broken their old fundraising record, bringing in $8.47 million in the first three months of 2021.

The Conservatives raised this money with 45,000 donors. O'Toole said that the number of these donors reveals the dissatisfaction that Canadians have with the prime minister, according to Global News.

This breaks the previous record that was set by then-leader Andrew Scheer in 2019. In the first three months of that year, the Conservatives bought in $8.01 million.

Neither the Liberals nor the NDP has posted their financial returns for 2021, however, these parties are preparing for an election.

The next election could be imminent, relying on whether Trudeau feels comfortable calling an election during a pandemic.

The only other party to reveal their finances was the Bloc Quebecois who raised around $373,000 using 2,040 donors.
