A New York event scheduled for Friday called “Doing Business Under Coronavirus” has been cancelled by the Council on Foreign Relations due to the virus itself.

The CFR has also cancelled upcoming conferences scheduled from March 11 and April 3, as well as national events throughout the United States, according to Bloomberg.

These are not the only events being cancelled around the US. The New York auto show has also been postponed. According to the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association, the event has been rescheduled to August.

As more cases of the virus surface in New York, especially in the suburb New Rochelle, more events in the city are running into uncertainty. According to Governor Andrew Cuomo, The National Guard will be helping to close public spaces to avoid further spread of the virus.

So far, over 50 major corporate events across the US have been affected by the spread of the virus. Italy has been placed on a full lockdown, and Israel has announced that visitors will have to go through 14 day quarantines.
