Coronavirus: Four new cases in Ontario, bringing total to 41

Four more cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Ontario. The provinces total number of cases has reached 41 as of Wednesday.

According to Ontario health officials, four more cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the province. The total number of cases in Ontario has reached 41 as of Wednesday.

The 38th case in the province is a woman who reported to York Region’s Mackenzie Health. She is in her 30s and has recently travelled to Egypt. She is now at her home in self-isolation according to Global News.

Ontario’s 39th case is a man who is also in his 30s. He checked in at Toronto Western Hospital and was recently in the U.S. He is now in self-isolation.

The province’s 40th case is a man above 40 who recently travelled to Australia. He checked at Ottawa Hospital after experiencing symptoms and is now in self isolation.

The 41st case is another woman in her 30s. She went to Hamilton Health Sciences and was recently in the U.S. She is also in self-isolation.

On the hospital’s website, it says that the woman is a physician at the Juravinski Cancer Centre. She was tested on March 9 after reporting symptoms.

“She was working at the Juravinski Cancer Centre the afternoon of March 9 and saw patients and interacted with colleagues and staff. Those individuals are being contacted,” said Hamilton Health Sciences.

On Tuesday, it was confirmed that a Sudbury man in his 50s had the virus. He recently went to a convention in Toronto. His travel history has not been listed by officials and it is unknown whether his case is a result of community spread.

Five cases of the deadly virus in Ontario have been resolved as of Wednesday.
