CPAC: Marc Levin slams Biden for not sanctioning Russia's energy sector

"These people live and they want to fight," Levin said of Ukrainian nationals. "They should have arms to kill as many of these bastards as they possibly can."

Mark Levin spoke to a packed CPAC house on Saturday, addressing concerns about the progressive bent to the American cultural and political landscape. For Levin, it's an American Marxism that is intentionally trying to destroy the nuclear family. Families are the building blocks of society, and without that, there are no foundations upon which to build a successful nation.

Levin, who was joined on stage by his wife Julie Strauss-Levin, addressed the war in Ukraine, and spoke to the need for America to take a stand in favor of the Russian-bordered nation.

"If people don't know why we should care about the Ukraine by now, then they're Helen Keller," Levin said. "All you have to do is see what the Russians are doing." He spoke about the bordering countries, and countries in the Eastern European region, that are "part of the American alliance."

As such, he said that America needs to stand up to Russian aggression against Eastern Europe. He believes that Putin is following in the footsteps of notorious 20th century aggressors and mass murders Adolph Hitler and Joseph Stalin. "He's not even talking about the Soviet empire," Levin said, "he's talking about the old Russian empire."

"This is a desperate man who will do desperate things; he's a killer. And I want you great American patriots to know something: I am proud of constitutional conservatism," he said, noting that as Americans, "we don't pretend that when freedom loving people are being crushed, slaughtered, by an enemy of the United States, that it doesn't matter. It matters. Taiwan matters. Israel matters, Cuba matters, Venezuela matters, Ukraine matters."

The crowd cheered as Levin clarified that American troops should not be sent overseas to fight, but that America cannot sit on its metaphorical "hands and pretend that nothing is going on."

"These people live and they want to fight," he said. "They should have arms to kill as many of these bastards as they possibly can."

He slammed President Joe Biden for keeping America's borders open, saying that our borders are open because of the "fool in the Oval Office," but that this doesn't mean "we shouldn't care about Ukraine's sovereignty … how about we care about our sovereignty and their sovereignty."

Levin took issue with the Biden administration for sanctioning American energy companies while leaving Russia's energy sector in tact. He said that Biden "places harsh sanctions on our oil companies, and no sanctions on the Russian oil companies."

If the US allows the Russian incursion into Europe, showing "weakness in the face of these genocidal maniacs," then it's only a matter of time before more of them emerge, and China's Xi Jinping takes Taiwan, Levin said.

Of Ukrainians, Levin said "those people need our support." He recalled the deal made between Ukraine and President Bill Clinton in 1994, when Ukraine surrendered their nuclear weapons and America promised to help them defend themselves, noting that this makes Ukraine America's responsibility.

Levin criticized the rest of Biden's foreign policy as well, saying that the world's authoritarian leaders "need to fear us, they need to respect us."

He said former President Donald Trump's foreign policy was misunderstood, because Trump "built up the American military. He secured our borders. He pressured NATO to spend more money on their defenses. NATO was stronger when he left than when he came into office. He didn't shut down our foreign bases all over the world. He wanted our enemies to second guess him, he wanted our enemies to fear him."

And, Levin said, they did. Aggression did not come without consequence, he explained of Trump's foreign policy. "He didn't create World War III, he wasn't looking for a fight. He's one of the least war-hungry president's we've ever had, but he had common sense."

"He was not an appeaser; he was not a pacifist; he was a realist," Levin said.
