"If you want girl parts and don't have them you can do special surgery where they turn your penis inside out and there's a vagina inside," one small boy is recorded as saying after learning about the process in the most mundane and inaccurate terms. The boy's parents are divorced, but only one parent felt that the child should be transitioned, while the other, his mother, who is a lesbian and featured in the film, felt strongly that the child was actually a boy.
Speaking to War Room's Steve Bannon, Brandon Showalter of the Christian Post speaks about the film, and why it's essential that people see it and truly understand what the gender industry is doing not just to children and teens, but to the families who love them and would do anything to protect and keep them whole.
"This documentary is a visceral gut punch," Showalter said, "an intimate portrait, a glimpse and sort of a fly on the wall into what happens when families have to deal with his ideology invading their home. I can't articulate enough just how powerful it is."
"The legacy press has not been giving a voice to the parents certainly. Only very recently have outlets like Reuters and a little bit in The New York Times even the New York Magazine Intelligencer, in the last few months have started to introduce some scrutiny of what I believe is one of the greatest medical scandals of all time, going on blockers and hormones and that kind of thing, but the parents have not been given a voice," Showalter said.
When the mother of the 4-year-old approached the school, she found that the educators, too, were wrapped up in the sex change fantasy for the child, and encouraged the mother to call the boy Rosa, to let him dress in girl clothes, and to uphold the lie that changing sex is in fact possible with the help of surgeries and drugs.
This mother found that her child preferred presenting as a boy, but that when he was with his other parent, he presented as a girl, essentially to please that parent. This mother is still going through this with her child, and hoping that there will be a way to help him break free of the constraints and limitations of gender ideology as implemented in his young life.
The family of a teen girl speaks about the young woman beginning testosterone after very brief consultations about her gender concerns and issues, while a father was stunned to find that his son had begun to transition in college, leading to tragic results.
Of the "affirming model," this father says that he doesn't understand how anyone could think that was the appropriate course of action if they knew what it really entailed. In his life, everyone told him he needed to "affirm" his son in his medical gender transition. His refusal to do so led to an estrangement between himself and his child.
Recently speaking to the Heritage Foundation at a Gender Summit, Chloe Cole, a young woman of 18 who had undergone medical sex change surgery, as well as had taken puberty blockers and testosterone, spoke about her experience realizing that she is female. This only happened after her breasts were removed and she'd been presenting as male since about the age of 12 years old.
While many have encouraged her to blame her parents, she said, she has no malice or anger toward them. In fact, Cole said that they were as caught up in the gender industry as she was, they were all something like flies in a spider's web. While her parents questioned the decisions along the road to transition, the medical industry encouraged them to give up their doubts and hop on board the gender journey, lest their daughter take her own life as a consequence of their refusal to "affirm" her gender.
Dead Name digs into the stories of the parents and families that experience this anguish, and are at once at battle with the medical industry, educational system, and often other members of their own family who are unwilling to look reality in the face.
The parents in Dead Name know who their children are, yet they are the ones who are treated as interlopers and haters in the stories of their "trans kids." The gender industry, at every turn, seeks to divide parent from child, not just in spirit, but by remaking the child's body to match the new vision for humanity, one where body parts are simply accessories, and fantasy is more important than reality.
In the US, parents are not only up against the gender industry and misguided educators but also the entire Democrat political establishment. President Joe Biden has repeatedly told American parents to "affirm" their kids, meaning he advocates for boys to be told they are not boys in the event that they are too feminine, and for girls to be told that they are not girls in the event that they are too masculine.
Instead, the President seems to believe that children should be put on drugs to stunt their development, then given cross-sex hormones, and then surgically operated on to have parts of their bodies removed and reshaped to give the appearance of being the body of the opposite sex.
Under this kind of pressure, it seems that parents hardly even have a chance.
It is in defense of parents and their rights that lawmakers in many Rebublican-led states have been putting together legislation to prevent doctors from performing medical sex changes on minors, to prevent educators from keeping secret the gender transition of students from their parents, and to allow those who have undergone medicalized sex change greater recourse to restitution for their horrific injuries.
These laws are often referred to as "anti-LGBTQ" bills and policies, and once painted with the broad brush of bigotry, it is hard for anyone to see a way to supporting them. But the labels for these laws is mere propaganda, and parents, families, and children are the ones suffering because our society refuses to acknowledge the truth.
