When a majority of sane and decent Americans prayed for President Donald Trump and Melania Trump's speedy recovery from COVID-19, deranged leftists wished death upon the First Family.
The commander-in-chief and his wife confirmed they tested positive for the coronavirus late Thursday night, vowing to quarantine themselves until fully recovered. To date, over 200,000 lives were lost out of almost 7.5 million cases in the U.S.
Yet mainstream media laid out its political agenda on social media for the upcoming presidential election.
Less than an hour after news of the White House couple's diagnoses broke, the Washington Post posted an opinion article, entitled "Imagine what it will be like to never have to think about Trump again, in a since-deleted tweet.
The news outlet admitted to the "tasteless" headline, claiming that the link was "released through an automated program" and is now removed, "because the subsequent news of President Trump’s infection rendered it tasteless."
The piece published 12 hours prior is now renamed, "Vote for Biden and get Trump out of your head."
The New York Times wrote in a live feed: "Even if Mr. Trump, 74, remains asymptomatic, he will have to withdraw from the campaign trail and stay isolated in the White House for an unknown period of time."
"If he becomes sick, it could raise questions about whether he should remain on the ballot at all," the publication proposed to buck the Republican ticket.
Meanwhile, numerous eager individuals blatantly longed for the demise of their sitting president amid a fiery re-election campaign and ongoing pandemic.
"Guess we'll find out just how close Trump and Hope are, if you know what I mean," the Lincoln Project's senior adviser Rachel Bitecofer insinuated.
Counselor to the president Hope Hicks tested positive for COVID-19 earlier. Hicks was in close proximity with Trump this week, traveling aboard Air Force One to and from the presidential debate Tuesday night. She also accompanied the president to his Minnesota rally the previous day.
"I hope Trump’s diagnosis wakes his supporters up to the reality of the pandemic and also that it makes him suffer and die," Emmy-nominated director Michael Bonfiglio tweeted in suspected violation of Twitter's glorification of violence policy under the site's Terms of Service.
Former national spokesperson for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign and Obama White House staffer Zara Rahim scrubbed her tweet, knowing as a communications professional that the Internet entombs digital footprints: "It's been against my moral identity to tweet this for the past four years, but I hope he dies."
Actor Rob Hoffman attacked the First Lady with spite: "I don’t want to sound like a spiteful person but I also don’t care if Melania dies from Covid because she’s a worthless c—."
"I hope you get a mutation of the virus that makes your anus fall off," gun control activist Cameron Kasky who co-founded the student-led advocacy group Never Again MSD and organized the March for Our Lives.
"That my friends is called Karma!" South Indian film actress Karthika Nair retaliated. "For someone who never believed in wearing a mask."
Rapper Ice-T followed suit: "Can I say Karma's a B*tch...."
Many leftists accused Trump of planting the lab results as a political stunt to cowardly hinder his next face-off with Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.
MSNBC's Joy Reid claimed Trump "wrecked" his "credibility," using a supposed flood of text messages from friends who disbelieve the White House physician's determination.
“[Trump] lies so much,” Reid quoted an unnamed source. “Is he just doing this to get out of the debates?” others are apparently messaging.
"Seems like someone don’t wanna go back to the debate stage," Women's March co-chair and Arab American Association of New York former executive director Linda Sarsour fired.
"ok but this is low key a GANGSTER way to p—sy out of the next debate," stated "New Girl" producer Eliot Glazer.
