Promotional material advertising the event showed Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Clarabelle, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy in rainbow-patterned attire.
According to a company announcement Monday, "The first-ever Disneyland After Dark: Pride Nite is coming to Disneyland during Pride Month in June."
"This separately ticketed event celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community and allies will have themed entertainment, Disney characters, specialty menu items, and more."
The festivities will start with a three-hour party at 6 pm and a private party begins at 9 pm and runs until 1 am.
Disney advertised an Ohana Dance Party with Stitch and a DJ at Tomorrowland Terrace, the Pride Nite Dance Club along the Rivers of America, and country line dancing at the Golden Horseshoe.
Additionally, there will be photo backdrops with “inspirational messages.”
As part of the event, the theme park guests will be able to ride popular attractions outside of the standard operating hours including the Haunted Mansion, Indiana Jones Adventure, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
Some viewed the announcement as a response to Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis’ ongoing battle with the Mouse House, most recently working with the state legislature to reassert its control over Disney World’s Reedy Creek Improvement District.
DeSantis signed HB 9-B earlier this year that stripped Reedy Creek Improvement District of its self-governance privileges, giving oversight back to the state.
