Legal representatives of Dominion Voting Systems have sent MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell a cautionary letter warning him of "imminent" litigation for spreading unproven claims of election fraud orchestrated by the company, The New York Times reports.
"You have positioned yourself as a prominent leader of the ongoing misinformation campaign," the letter told Lindell. "Litigation regarding these issues is imminent."
Lindell, who appears prominently in MyPillow television commercials, has described Dominion Voting Systems' machines as "the biggest fraud" and has asserted that Dominion was involved in stealing "3 million votes or more nationwide." No evidence has thus far been provided to support such claims.
Dominion Voting Systems has already initiated legal action against a number of pro-Trump figures who have spread unsubstantiated claims that the company was involved in rigging the 2020 election in favour of President-elect Joe Biden.
The company is suing Sidney Powell, a pro-Trump lawyer who spread a number of unsubstantiated claims about Dominion, for $1.3 billion, a move which was announced shortly after the election was certified in Biden's favour.
Other figures who have received letters demanding they cease making claims of electoral fraud against the company includes FOX News, One America News Network, Epoch Times, and Rudy Giuliani.
