CPC Leader Erin O'Toole says he is "disturbed" by the recent Netflix release, "Cuties". There has been widespread controversy surrounding Netflix's new debut as the French coming-of-age film has been criticized for depicting hyper-sexualized imagery of eleven-year-old girls. Following the release of the movie poster, Netflix was subject to a massive #CancelNetflix campaign.

Netflix apologized for the poster, and attempted to mitigate controversy by praising the film and changing the allegedly inaccurate poster
We're deeply sorry for the inappropriate artwork that we used for Mignonnes/Cuties. It was not OK, nor was it representative of this French film which won an award at Sundance. We’ve now updated the pictures and description.

While many gave Netflix the benefit of the doubt, many were shocked by the film seemingly being worse than originally expected. American Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard was one of the first elected politicians to speak out against the film following its debut.
.@netflix child porn "Cuties" will certainly whet the appetite of pedophiles & help fuel the child sex trafficking trade. 1 in 4 victims of trafficking are children. It happened to my friend's 13 year old daughter. Netflix, you are now complicit. #CancelNetflix pic.twitter.com/GI8KFH7LFq

In Canada, Bob Zimmer, the Member of Parliament for Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies, spoke out against the film.
As a father of four i am appalled and disgusted. @netflix you need put a stop to this now. https://t.co/TgJiDM51v9

The Opposition leader released a statement across social media platforms on Saturday morning.
I’m a dad who is deeply disturbed by this Netflix show. Childhood is a time of innocence. We must do more to protect children. This show is exploitative and wrong. https://t.co/ZDwHt24etT
