Facebook says Chuck Schumer's media director is guilty of hate speech

"Kill me I hate this f*g," Burns wrote in a July 2011 tweet. "youre [sic] a f*ggot," she wrote in June of the same year.

On Thursday, Facebook flagged an article from the National Pulse regarding homophobic tweets posted by Sen. Chuck Schumer Media Director Caroline Burns, saying that the post went against Community Standards.

In a tweet posted by Natalie Winters, who wrote the National Pulse article "'Hate This F*g': Chuck Schumer’s Media Director Has a History of Gay-Bashing Tweets," she revealed that the social media platform had flagged the article for going against standards on "hate speech and inferiority."

Winters told The Post Millennial, "the latest attack on our expose revealing hypocrisy and homophobia from a leading left-wing communications operative shows the dramatic lengths that big tech will go to cover for one political party.

"It demonstrates the alarming trend of social media platforms in lockstep with 'fact-checkers' getting to decide what kind of information users are allowed to consume," she continued. "It seems that without exception, as the National Pulse’s exclusive investigations have repeatedly shown, they always side with Democrats.

"Facebook flagged our article exposing old homophobic tweets from Sen. Schumer's Media Director for *hate speech*," Winters wrote, including the eyebrow raised emoji in her tweet.

Burns has worked in Schumer’s office since May of 2020, the National Pulse reported.

Despite working for a senator that has blasted his Republican colleagues for alleged attacks on LGBTQ people, Burns has previously posted a number of tweets containing homophobic slurs.

"Kill me I hate this f*g," Burns wrote in a July 2011 tweet.

"youre [sic] a f*ggot," she wrote in June of the same year.

In a June 2013 tweet, Burns appeared to quote a conversation with a new roommate, where they said "my biggest fear is that you’d be gay."

In September of 2012, Burns wrote: "Shoulda warn an athletics shirt today. At least that way there’s an unspoken agreement with society that you’re allowed to look like a dyke."

Winters told The Post Millennial that "we've appealed the decision and are seeking for Facebook to reinstate the post."
