A Brooklyn mother traveling with six children on a flight from Orlando to New York was kicked off a JetBlue flight on Wednesday because her 2-year-old would not wear a face mask, CBS reports.

Videos of the incident have been shared across social media. In one video the mother, Chaya Bruck, speaks with a flight attendant before the plane takes off.

"You realize she's 2?" Bruck tells the flight attendant. The attendant then says that the mask policy is "not something we can excuse." The mother responds with, "so should I tie her hands? What should I do?"

During the exchange the toddler is sitting uncomfortably, visibly worried by the argument. Fellow passengers stuck up for Bruck, many saying the 2-year-old shouldn't have to wear a mask.

JetBlue told media that the cabin became boisterous and a decision to de-board the plan was made. The mother also verbally refused to get off the aircraft. In a statement to CBS News, the airline said its mask policy was updated on August 10.

It states that "all travellers two years and older must wear a face covering over their nose and mouth throughout their journey, including during check-in, boarding, while in flight and deplaning."
