Following Wednesday's second French-language debate, the leaders of Canada's five main federal parties are preparing to take the stage once again, this time in English.

As the election looms near, prime ministerial candidates are working hard to woo voters into voting for their respective parties, with promises of affordable healthcare, pandemic relief, and action on climate change.

Wednesday night's French-language debate  covered all these topics, as well as the issue of Quebec's position in Canada.

Last night saw Prime Minister Trudeau and Bloc Quebecois leader Yves-Francois Blanchet get into a heated discussion, after the former accused the latter of acting as if he was the only voice for Quebec.

"You keep forgetting, I'm a Quebecer," Trudeau said. "I have always been a Quebecer, I will always be a Quebecer. You have no right to consider me not a Quebecer."

Conservative Leader Erin O'Toole emphasized his party's pledge to increase health transfers to provinces, accusing Trudeau of interfering in provincial jurisdiction.

Along with the 3 aforementioned candidates, also on stage were Green Party leader Annamie Paul and the NDP's Jagmeet Singh.

The first and only federal English language debate will take place in Gatineau, QC on Thursday at 9pm EST.
