Three people have been charged by Manitoba RCMP after they were caught violating social distancing rules that fall under the Emergency Measures Act, according to Global News.
On Wednesday, the RCMP said that 101 coronavirus related calls came in between April 12 and 20. The reports were mostly about gatherings of groups of 10 people or more.
We received 101 #COVID19 related calls btw April 14-20, mostly for reports of groups of 10+ ppl. To date, #rcmpmb have only charged 3 ppl, from The Pas, under the Emergency Measures Act, after officers responded to a house party & they refused to comply with directions given.

The people who were charged were attending a house party in The Pas on Sunday. According to police, party-goers became belligerent and would not follow directions after being approached by law enforcement.
A 45-year-old woman, a 25-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man each received charges of $486 for failure to comply with the provincial emergency order.
The RCMP agreed to begin enforcing the orders earlier this month. The orders are in place to stop people from gathering in large groups. The order also ensures that social distancing is being practiced in businesses.
Police say that most reports do not require RCMP intervention and have been taken care of through social distancing information provided by officers.
Verbal warnings have been issued by police in six instances.
