Two Florida teenagers have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of their friend in what appears to have been a game where they put on protective vests and took turns shooting each other on purpose.
16-year-old Christopher Leroy Broad was rushed to the hospital on Sunday by the Belleview Police Department with a gunshot wound. He unfortunately didn't survive the shooting, later succumbing to his injuries in hospital.
Police investigated the tragic incident, and discovered that Broad, it appears, was playing a game with two of his friends, Joshua Vining and Colton Whitler, both of whom are 17 years old.
In this game, they deliberately shot each other in the torso while wearing vests designed to block bullets.
According to WFLA, "Whitler was initially interviewed as a witness to the shooting but misled officials with inaccurate information about what took place and who shot Broad." As a result, he is being charged with providing false information to a law enforcement officer.
The bullet that wound up killing Broad appears to have been fired by Vining. As a result, Vining has been charged with aggravated manslaughter of a child using a firearm.
Both suspects are being charged as adults for their crimes.
