Premier Ford answered questions about the reopening of Ontario schools today. Ford was joined by the Minister of Education Stephen Lecce to give Ontarians an update on their plans to get students back to class.
The update came after Doug Ford slammed the Ontario teachers' unions on Wednesday. The Ontario Premier went on the offensive saying he doesn't understand why they won't cooperate with his government.

"I'm asking for the teachers' unions cooperation," Ford told reporters. "Why can't the teachers' unions get along with us?... If I can work and everyone can work together in the whole country, we've faced so many problems with this pandemic, why can't we work with the teachers' unions?"
Ford says he can't get anything done when the groups are constantly on the attack. He mentioned that his senior staff has met over 120 times with the teachers' unions to consult them on the back-to-school plan.
The teachers' unions have their doubts about Ford's back to school plan that will implement regular size classes for elementary school students. Ontario's Chief Medical Officer of Health says he endorses the plan.

Yesterday the Ford government announced they would make $500 million in reserve funds available to the Ministry of Education to use for spacing, hiring and for processes of reopening.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Education told CTV News Toronto that the plan to reopen schools has been crafted by the "best medical and scientific minds in the country."
