Ontario is continuing to see a decrease in the number of reported daily coronavirus cases, with 424 reported today. This is the lowest increase Ontario has seen in two weeks, according to blogTO.

Not since April 13 when there were 421 cases has Ontario reported a daily increase as low.

The lower amount of cases is a big improvement from Friday, when a record high increase of 640 was reported.

The province's testing rate is on the rise with 12,550 tests being finished yesterday, according to the Ministry of Health. Ontario has now conducted 242,188 tests with 5,001 still under investigation.

Today, there were 57 new deaths reported, bringing the total to 892.

The number of resolved cases in the province is now 8,525 (57.4 percent) and there are 5,439 active cases.

Around 17 percent of people infected with the virus are currently hospitalized. A total of 945 are in the hospital—241 are in ICU and 191 require ventilators.

Public health units in the GTA make up for 59.5 percent of cases.

Ontario has seen 170 long-term care home outbreaks which is three more than previously reported.

There have also been another 42 deaths reported among long-term care home residents, making the total 497.

Dr. David Williams, the Chief Medical Officer of Health says that the number of new cases per day should be somewhere near 200 before Premier Doug Ford looks into opening the province up again.

Ford plans to speak about the reopening of Ontario’s economy today during his press conference.
