The Ford government has extended its emergency coronavirus measures for two more weeks as we enter what many see as the home stretch in the fight to slow the spread of COVID-19.
The measures, first enacted on March 17, were set to expire on Thursday. Non-essential businesses and schools must remain closed and groups of five or more are not permitted under these measures.
According to CP24, "the province has also enacted a new law to help mental healthcare providers and addiction treatment centres continue to provide service during the pandemic."
“We are making steady progress in our battle against this deadly virus, but we are not out of the woods by a long shot. It is absolutely necessary to extend these emergency orders to continue keeping all Ontarians safe and healthy," Ford said in a statement.
