Ontario Premier Doug Ford is set to remove coronavirus restrictions for a large portion of the province on Monday, but not for Toronto. Much of Ontario has entered Stage Two of reopening.
Last Friday, much of the province's regions entered Stage Two of reopening but the majority of the population did not, according to the Toronto Sun.
Some of the places that remained in Stage One were Toronto Durham, York, Halton, Peel, Hamilton, Windsor-Essex and Niagara.
Most of Southern Ontario is set to begin Stage Two by Friday, but for Toronto, Windsor-Essex and Peel, Stage One will continue until at least June 26.
The Declaration of Emergency will also extend past June 29, but further restrictions may still be lifted.
The declaration has to remain in force in order for restrictions to gradually be relaxed. It was originally set to end on March 31 but received a number of extensions.
The changes are expected to be announced by Ford during his daily news conference at 1 p.m.
