Country super star Garth Brooks is slated to perform at Joe Biden's inauguration on Wednesday.
He will be performing alongside Jennifer Lopez and Lady Gaga.
"This is not a political statement, this is a statement of unity," said Brooks at a press conference. According to Entertainment Tonight, Brooks also said, "this is kind of how I get to serve this country."
This announcement comes twelve years after Brooks performed at Barack Obama’s 2009 inauguration. At that event, he sang “We Shall Be Free,” and he has also performed at other presidential events. He did however, skip President Donald Trump's 2017 inauguration, citing scheduling conflicts.
"This is an honor for me to get to serve," Brooks continued, "and it’s one of the things that, if my family is around, no matter who the president-elect is, it’s an honor to be asked."
It remains to be seen how Brooks' country fanbase reacts to this news.
