A recent poll conducted by Spry Strategies with the Women's Liberation Front measured voter views on gender identity policies in Idaho and California. These two states that have passed controversial bills on these topics.

According to the poll, 79 percent of likely voters in Idaho and 74 percent of likely voters in California believe boys and men should not be allowed to identify as female in order to compete against females in all-female sports competitions.

This reflects the views of 77 percent of voters across ten battleground states: Arizona, Georgia, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Montana, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Wisconsin, per similar polling Spry completed for the American Principles Project in July.

In their September-released poll, Spry and the Women's Liberation Front also found 85 percent of voters in Idaho, and 74 percent of voters in California, are uncomfortable with physicians providing hormone treatments or performing transition surgeries on minors.

The California legislature just passed AB 2218 which would establish a "Transgender Wellness Fund," a taxpayer-subsidized fund toward organizations that work with transgender people to help pay for hormone treatments and sex change surgeries for minors and adults. Yet 63 percent of likely voters disapproved of this bill.

Natasha Chart, board chair of the Women’s Liberation Front told The Post Millennial that, as a California native, she thought it was ironic that Hollywood features transgender themes in so much of its entertainment while California residents actually eschew these ideas.

"Gender identity has been a popular story line in TV and movies, as well as celebrity family stories, for years. Yet still, around three quarters of likely voters still oppose sterilizing children for gender transitions or letting boys and men identify into female-only sports."

Chart feels vindicated that opinions she believed were mainstream now have data points to prove it. "Most people don't support these policies, not in red Idaho, but also not in blue California, only their impacts aren't being talked about in plain, accurate language. Our numbers on the sports question were right in line with Spry's July polling on protecting women’s sports in ten battleground states."

The Idaho and California Statewide Surveys were conducted from August 29 - September 01 among a random sample of 600 likely voters.
