Georgia's top election official, told reporters that the state is expected to finish counting outstanding votes by midday on Thursday.

President Trump is currently leading Joe Biden by a slim margin of just over 18,500 votes.

Decision Desk HQ projects these current numbers:

Trump (R): 49.57% (2,432,552 votes) | Biden (D): 49.20% (2,413,966 votes)

Most of the remaining ballots are in Fulton County, the county Atlanta is in and Chatham County, where Savannah is located.

"We're looking at by lunchtime having most of this knocked out," Georgia Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger told The Hill.

Trump's lead has diminished rapidly due to officials counting outstanding absentee ballots from highly populated Democrat areas.

This comes after Trump's campaign and the Georgia GOP filed a lawsuit Wednesday saying officials in Chatham County are illegally counting votes that were delivered after the states voting deadline.

Trump's team is hoping to identify these ballots and have them scraped from the count.
