Congressional investigations will be launched into the alleged shady foreign business dealings of President Biden and his son, Hunter, if Republicans take back the House in 2022, according to a GOP leader.
Rep. James Comer (R-KY), the Ranking Member of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, said Republicans "will use the power of the gavel" to get answers, as more evidence emerged regarding the families dealings through a bombshell voicemail between Biden and his son on Monday.
"Evidence continues to mount that Joe Biden is the 'Big Guy' and received a cut from his family's suspicious foreign business deals," Comer told The Daily Mail.
When allegations first begun to surface, President Biden repeatedly denied speaking to Hunter about his overseas business deals. Yet the 2018 voicemail revealed that the President spoke to his son about a New York Times story regarding Hunter's business dealings with the Chinese oil company CEFC, Daily Wire reports.
"Hey pal, it's Dad. It's 8:15 on Wednesday night. If you get a chance just give me a call. Nothing urgent. I just wanted to talk to you," Biden told Hunter in the voicemail. "I thought the article released online, it's going to be printed tomorrow in the Times, was good. I think you're clear. And anyway if you get a chance give me a call. I love you."
Rep. Comer said the voicemail is further proof that Biden knew of his son's foreign business deals.
"We've uncovered evidence revealing the [commingling] of Hunter and Joe Biden's finances and the voicemail unearthed recently is just further proof Joe Biden knew about his son's wheeling and dealing with foreign adversaries," Comer remarked.
"We will continue to investigate the Biden family's shady business deals as more facts emerge," he added.
"If Americans entrust Republicans with the majority, we will use the power of the gavel to get answers about the Biden family's pattern of placing profit over country to determine if President Biden is compromised by these deals," Comer asserted.
Hunter Biden's shady foreign business deals were first exposed in a 2020 article by New York Post after they obtained emails and files from Hunter's abandoned laptop. Mainstream media, Big Tech, and liberal publications, including The New York Times, worked in conjunction to suppress the bombshell story in order not to hinder Joe Biden from winning the 2020 Presidential Election. However, authorities have since confirmed the laptop's authenticity, and The New York Times have launched an investigation.
