Ex-Green Party candidate laughs at Alberta's economy, wants UCP deported

Ex-Green Party Candidate Tom Milroy has landed himself in hot water after making some controversial comments regarding the price of oil, western alienation, and the UCP.

Alberta's economy is in danger of being ravaged by low oil prices. Milroy, however, was not particularly concerned by this, saying "with oil going for less than $0 we can now buy Alberta, for cheap"  

"Deport the UCP and the moronic wexiteers to the USA, start the Canadian ban on weapons of all kinds there, build solar and wind farms, retrain the oilpatch workforce & be done with this BS forever."

In 2015, Milroy stood as the Green Party candidate in Ottawa Centre, finishing in fourth place. Despite an expected "green wave" Milroy only won 7.4 percent of the vote.

After posting this tweet, Milroy was soon criticized by the ex-Wildrose Party leader Brian Jean who said this is "what the radicals in the Green Party think of Alberta. This is a Green Party Candidate from Ottawa Centre."

Jean then urged his Facebook followers to get in contact with the Green Party's Ottawa office so that they can express their displeasure.

Alberta's economy has been devastated over recent weeks through an accumulation of unforeseen damage. Firstly, the OPEC cartel flooded the market with oil, followed by a pandemic that crushed demand for that oil—all of which has made it impossible to produce oil profitably in Canada.

It is difficult to predict whether Canada's oil industry will recover from this trauma, however, some 500,000 jobs will depend on the industry's regeneration.

The Green Party did not respond to The Post Millennial's request for a comment.
