Speaking with reporters during his daily COVID-19 briefing on Thursday, Doug Ford said that he is "nervous" about children going out trick or treating this year due to COVID-19.

Ford said Halloween is still too far away to make a decision but he did say the thought of Halloween going ahead like normal worries him.

Premier Ford made it known that a lot can still change between now and Halloween though.

“Let’s play it by ear and see what happens over the next month-and-a-half but it makes me nervous, kids going door-to-door with this. I would prefer not to,” the Premier stated.

Ford described how cases could still dramatically fall or rapidly rise in a span of weeks. He told reporters, “A month-and-a-half is a long time when it comes to COVID,” he said. “When you look back a month-and-a-half ago or even a few weeks ago we were below 100 (new cases a day) but now it has spiked up and it is almost double.”
