The Ford government is pulling the so-called "emergency break" and will be activating a four-week lockdown across the entire province, sources confirmed to Global News and CTV News last night.
The news came after it had been speculated that Ford could announce the lockdown for the Greater Toronto Area, though the decision has apparently been made to go province-wide.
According to sources, the lockdown would begin at 12:01 am on Saturday.
The plan would also shut down indoor and patio dining, meaning restaurants will only be able to function on delivery and takeout options.
It has also been reported that retail stores will be reduced to 25 percent capacity.
Schools are likely to remain open after Easter, though nothin has been confirmed.
The announcement is expected to be made some time on Thursday.
Ford told Ontarians to "stay tuned" for lockdown updates during a press conference with federal ministers on Wednesday.
Ford had also previously said that he would not hesitate to pull the trigger on another lockdown.
