A mother in Sugar Land, Texas shot a man invading her home early this morning.
KHOU 11 says the woman told police that she heard a noise coming from the back door, she saw it was someone trying to get in and shot him in the chest.

Right now, @SugarLandtxgov police are investigating after a mom at home with her 8 YO child, shot an alleged intruder breaking in.
He ran off, but police later found him, he was taken to hospital.

The suspect then ran off, but was later taken to hospital after having been found in the streets.

Neither the woman nor her 8-year-old child were injured, and the women tells police she did not recognize the suspect.
