Police are investigating after three people were found dead in a condominium building in Mississauga on Wednesday, reports CP24.
Officers responded to one of the buildings units close to Hurontario Street and Burnhamthorpe Road at about 1:30 p.m., according to Const. Heather Cannon.
Cannon said they found three deceased men in the apartment who were all in their late 20s.
"The coroner attended, and they deemed it to be suspicious and actually had our Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau attend," she said. "At this particular point, they have been in their early stages of that particular investigation."
Police found a fourth victim in the condo who was taken to a local hospital and is now in serious condition.
Cannon said that all the men knew each other though it is not known whether they live in the unit. She added that possibly laced illicit substances were also found at the scene.
"We believe that they make up part of what has occurred today and it’s quite tragic," she said.
Investigators say there was possibly a get together at the unit on Tuesday night and a number of people could have ingested the substances.
"If those people are not feeling well, we do ask that they are attending a medical facility," she said adding that there is no suspicious information at this time.
Dr. Kavita Aswani, who lives in the building said she checked on her son after hearing a noise close to midnight. Her son’s room is next to the unit where the get together occurred.
"I didn’t hear a whole lot," Aswani said. "He heard loud noises. That’s all he said."
"I’m freaked out," she said. "We didn’t hear any gunshot or anything. I don’t know."
People with additional information are asked to contact police or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers.
