As conservatives around the country have been banned and censored across social media platforms, I woke up on Thursday shocked to find that I had been permanently banned from the popular dating app, Tinder.
Overcoming recent heartbreak after ending an 8 year relationship to the man I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with as we were engaged to be married, I decided to jump back in the dating pool as I was curious to see what Seattle men had to offer.
I received a notification on my phone from Tinder and decided to open it, thinking it was a message from someone I had matched with. To my surprise, it was a message from Tinder stating that I had been permanently banned from the app for creating an "unsafe space" for other users.
"It's important for us that Tinder is a welcoming and safe space for everyone. Unfortunately, we found that you violated our Terms of Use and so we've made the decision to remove you from the Tinder platform," Tinder said.
"This decision is final – you will no longer be able to access your Tinder account or create new accounts in the future."
Before I continue, trust me when I say that I had absolutely zero expectations of finding my soulmate on this app. This is Seattle, after all, where the majority of males have less testosterone than the average female— not my type!
But I had decided to download Tinder to seek random validation and perhaps a self-confidence boost from random internet strangers that I really had no intention of dating in the real world.
Listed on my profile to describe myself were "Christian" and "conservative," values that are evidently triggering to those is the Seattle dating pool, and apparently the communist employees that run Tinder.
As a journalist who reports on political violence, which has resulted in left-wing activists showing up to my personal residence to intimidate me, the right to utilize the second amendment has become vital to me. Which is why also listed on my profile, in order to weed out the gun control advocates, one would would find "must like firearms"– a crucial necessity that the standard male living in Seattle doesn't agree with.
Perhaps it was my love of firearms that got me booted from the platform. Or, maybe, I'm just too cute and smart, which the men in Seattle found to be too intimidating (joking)!
The reason for my permanent ban could have also been the result of a coordinated campaign attack from Antifa/far-left activists that use the platform. My Tinder account was previously listed on an Antifa live-streamers Instagram account, which resulted in comments from people telling others to "report" my account.
"Please report it. And tell them why. I got my abuser's account removed and would love to see this abuser removed as well," a far-left activist posted in the comments.
In the end, I had a few solid matches for my short time on the platform, most of whom I never messaged back. I guess a future with them was just not meant to be.
