Illegal immigrants shipped to Canada from US with government-funded bus tickets

"We are there for them as they continue to move on with their pursuit of this dream," NYC mayor Eric Adams said when pressed on the fact that migrants are fleeing the country with the help of taxpayer-funded buses.

It has been revealed that many of the illegal migrants receiving government-funded bus tickets to leave New York City are using the free transport to flee to the Canada

The bussing of migrants to different locations is just one of the many moves city officials have made as they struggle to accommodate the unprecedented influx that has occurred in recent months. The program was intended to keep them within the United States, however, many have exploited a loophole and made a break for the great white north.

According to the New York Post, one of the destinations offered to migrants via the program is Plattsburgh, a town in the northern part of the state just twenty miles from the Canadian border.

After picking up their New York state taxpayer-funded tickets from soldiers stationed at the Port Authority Bus Terminal on 42nd Street in Manhattan, migrants hop on their respective buses and the journey begins.

When migrants arrive in Plattsburgh, shuttle and taxi drivers stand poised to transport them up to the border. As the Post reports, shreds of torn-up American immigration documents referencing the Department of Homeland Security have been discovered on the floor of the shuttles, indicating that migrants were attempting to leave the country.

Tyler Tambini, who drives one of the shuttles, told the Post that he sees around 100 migrants per day. "They get dropped off and I take them the rest of the way," he explained.

Those who make the journey into Canada are promptly stopped by members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and arrested before being taken in for processing.

The reasons for making the illegal journey vary. According to the Post, many migrants said they were "going to Canada for a better quality of life."

Peruvian native Susy Sanchez Solzarno, 33, crossed into Canada on Friday morning with her husband and two daughters after one of the girls saw a video on TikTok of other migrants doing the same. The family spent about a month and a half in a Queens hotel that was converted into an emergency shelter.

"I wanted to live in New York because I thought it would be a better future for my daughters," she said. "But as the days went by, I saw insecurity, many homeless people, many people who shout and are disrespectful, and many people on drugs."

"I am going to Canada for the safety and future of my girls," she said. "I only ask God that everything goes well and that Canada is not like the United States."

"Some want to go to Canada, some want to go to warmer states,"  NYC mayor Eric Adams said when pressed on the fact that migrants are fleeing the country with the help of taxpayer-funded buses, "and we are there for them as they continue to move on with their pursuit of this dream."

According to the New York Post, an estimated 43.900 migrants have flooded the city since the spring. More than 28.400 are living in 83 hotels and five "Humanitarian Emergency Response and Relief Centers."
