Details on the joint independent review into the Nova Scotia mass killing will be released on Thursday afternoon by the Nova Scotia and federal governments, according to CTV News.
The announcement follows many calls for an inquiry from families of the victims, the NDP and the Progressive Conservatives.
A gunman in Nova Scotia killed 22 people during a shooting rampage that lasted 13 hours from April 18 to 19. The shootings began in a small community called Portapique and came to an end 150 kilometres away at an Enfield gas station.
Following months of unanswered questions, roughly 280 people marched to Bible Hill, Nova Scotia’s RCMP detachment to call for an inquiry on Wednesday.
The justice minister of Nova Scotia has said multiple times that the province will not lead an inquiry, though it is committed to one.
Nova Scotia Justice Minister Mark Furey and federal Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Bill Blair will conduct a news conference on Thursday at 1 p.m.
