Indie rock band Japanese Breakfast announced on Thursday that they would be cancelling their show in Rochester, New York. The decision was made after they found out that the venue they were set to perform in will be hosting the conservative ReAwaken America tour later this summer.

"We have cancelled the event because a number of people reached out letting us know they were boycotting the venue because of the Reawaken America tour," the band wrote. "We were told the event was cancelled and later learned it was secretly still moving forward."

The band released a statement via Twitter.

"It's a picket line we support and are not interested in crossing," the statement continued.

Most of the reaction from fans was positive, with many saying that while they are disappointed that they won't be able to see the band, boycotting the venue was the right decision.

The ReAwaken America tour was organized by entrepreneur and former Tulsa, Oklahoma mayoral candidate Clay Clark in 2020. Since its inception, the tour has visited cities across the country with appearances by Eric Trump, Alex Jones, and MyPillow's Mike Lindell, among others.

The Rochester show is set to take place August 12 and 13 at the Main Street Armory. Speakers include former Trump National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, former Trump campaign adviser Roger Stone, and several pastors.

According to their Rumble page, the tour covers topics such as connecting the dots between COVID-19 and "The Great Reset," 5G technologies, Klaus Schwab, and the "RNA-Modifying COVID-19 Vaccines Agenda."

The decision to cancel the show is in line with views espoused by Japanese Breakfast.

Following the Supreme Court's overturning of Roe v. Wade, they tweeted, "Truly f*ck the scotus."

"Please donate to abortion funds to help protect the most vulnerable," they added. "Please keep raising your voice and staying in this fight."
