The threat of coronavirus has hit Hollywood this week as popular TV game shows Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! will be filmed without a live audience to prevent any possible further spreading of COVID-19.

As of Tuesday, production sources have confirmed that both shows will be filmed without a live audience, according to TMZ. Staff at Jeopardy! Are especially worried for the health of their host Alex Trebek, who is currently battling stage four pancreatic cancer.

Both the hosts of the game show, as well as their typical live audience tend to be elderly and thus most susceptible to the virus and least likely to recover after being infected with it. The decision is also an attempt to keep the virus from spreading into new areas.

Coronavirus has taken more than 4,000 lives to date and there are more than 118,000 confirmed cases of it worldwide. This has led to many celebrities cancelling their upcoming shows as well, such as, Madonna, Queen, Ciara, BTS, and Mariah Carey.

Other music festivals like the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin, Texas, and Miami’s Ultra Music Festival have been cancelled. Coachella, a popular music festival, has also been postponed.
