In the wake of what many have referred to as Obamagate, Jim Carrey took to Twitter to poke fun at President Trump, making a video that featured the comedian coughing the president's face.
Though Carrey did not really cough on Trump, he made it appear so by playing a clip of Trump on the television while standing in front of it and violently hacking all over the screen.
During the clip, Trump is at a press conference, discussing the "disgrace" that is "Obamagate."
Obamagate has been used to define the apparent efforts of those who were part of the Obama administration in participating in corruption that pales in comparison to Watergate.
And Carrey decided to respond to the Obamagate accusations with an attempt at comedy.
Carrey spent a lot of time in 2019 taking aim at Trump by drawing caricatures of the president and posting them on social media.
Last week, Carrey revealed a new piece of art, which was supposed to be a critique of the president's current handling of the COVID-19 pandemic on a federal level.
The artwork features the Grim Reaper flipping off Trump, suggesting that he was "jealous" of the president's "ability to double the death toll."
The actor took aim at Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Sunday.
"90,000 in the US, over 40,000 in the UK. Highest death tolls in the [Covid-19] world," Carrey posted on Twitter.
“Half of those deaths … preventable. REDRUM! REDRUM! REDRUM!” he added, referencing Stephen King's The Shining.
Obamagate is a credible accusation against a number of Obama-era officials—so much so that Republicans are pushing to subpoena many of them.
