J.K. Rowling, author of the international sensation the Harry Potter series, has launched an online hub for Potter fans, so that children may stay educated and entertained during their coronavirus quarantine, according to Global News.

The site is called "Harry Potter at Home" and it gathers a number of resources related to the international franchise, such as free access to the audiobook version of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

Rowling took to her personal website to announce that she was loosening up copyright permissions for the Harry Potter series, in order to allow teachers to upload videos of themselves reading aloud from her books to their students.

Audible's library provides free books as part of its partnership with the platform, which allows for it to become available in several different languages for free.

The service does not require a subscription to the Amazon-owned audiobook service. The hub also includes articles, puzzles and videos, curated by publishers Bloomsbury and Scholastic.

"Parents, teachers and carers working to keep children amused and interested while we're on lockdown might need a bit of magic," said Rowling.

"For over twenty years now, Hogwarts has been an escape for all—for readers and fans, young and old," described the website. "During the strange times we now find ourselves in, we want to welcome you back to Hogwarts, where you will find a friendly retreat for you, your family and those you are caring for."

Schools and workplaces have been closed nationwide as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, leaving hundreds of millions of people stuck, quarantined at their homes in self-isolation.
