Joe Rogan asked former President Donald Trump to reconsider his decision to not return to Twitter on Tuesday's episode of "The Joe Rogan Experience."

In a statement Monday, Trump said that he would not be returning to Twitter, despite the purchase by free speech champion Elon Musk. Trump said he would opt instead for his own Truth Social network over the next week.

"I am not going on Twitter, I am going to stay on TRUTH," Trump said to Fox News. "I hope Elon buys Twitter because he'll make improvements to it and he is a good man, but I am going to be staying on TRUTH."

Rogan's comments came after he found out that Musk's purchase of Twitter had been made official. Rogan commented on the impact that Musk would have on the platform.

"Here's why that's going to be interesting. Because first of all, he believes that free speech is important, and not just important, vital for a democracy—for a functioning democracy, and I agree with that," said Rogan of Musk.

"What's interesting about this is, look, we've found out some things about Twitter and one of the things they do is shadow ban people. They make it so that your content, whatever you put out, has less impact and has less engagement and limits your ability to express yourself.

"They ban accounts, and they ban accounts if the account says something that they don't agree with. If the account says something that they believe... this ability to shadow ban people has to be exposed."

"... Look, it will change everything, and I wonder how quickly before Donald Trump's back," said Rogan, not knowing that Trump had announced he would be opting for Truth Social.

After being told by his producer Jamie Vernon that he would not be returning to the platform, Rogan looked at the camera and said: "Donald, reconsider!"
