A triumph for Judeo-Christian art, Jonathan Pageau's God's'Dog graphic novel has reached over $160k in donations on IndieGoGo.

The Christian Orthodox Iconographer is best known for his YouTube videos on symbolism, which have made waves in the online world. Some of his most prominent work includes collaborative discussions with Dr. Jordan B. Peterson, as well as analysis of symbolism and propaganda in pop culture.

Likewise, Jonathan's brother has also made a significant contribution to modern Theological discussion. Matthieu Pageau recently published the Amazon bestseller, The Language of Creation and is credited for creating the God's'Dog story alongside Jonathan.

Written by Jonathan and Matthieu Pageau and illustrated by Cord Nielson, God's'Dog is an upcoming series of graphic novels retelling the legendary story of the dog-headed Saint Christopher. It is a surprising tale of transformation woven into a mythological version of the Biblical cosmos, where angels, giants, dragons, as well as warrior saints and mysterious monks, deal with the consequences of the world's very first relic.

The sixty-day crowdfunding campaign for the first book, God's'Dog: Monster, launched on October 31st, 2021, with books planned to go out by February 2022. Despite being only the first of many novels, the IndieGoGo campaign surpassed its goal by 426%. With just under a month left, the novel has raised $162,047, making it one of the most successful crowdfunded graphic novels.

The success of God's'Dog is not only a victory for crowdfunding, but a signal that Christian symbolism is emerging as a much-desired topic online.

"The situation of storytelling is in crisis," Jonathan Pageau said. "Stories for children and adults have become ideologically driven, politically slanted and lacking in mythic depth. By releasing God's'Dog, we are hoping not only to tell a good story but also to explore what is possible in reviving a mythical embodiment of our own legends and traditions," Pageau continued.

The story of God's Dog dives into ancient Christian and Jewish traditions surrounding the Genesis accounts, treating them as world building and mythical backdrop for a panoply of saints like our main character St-Christopher. The story also showcases St-George, St-Mercurius, St-Symeon Stylite and even Biblical characters such as Adam, Eve, Cain, Nimrod, Elijah, finally also alluding to historical characters from Alexander to Nero.

Within the epic scope of a cosmic battle over humanity's first relic, the main thrust surrounds Saint Christopher, the mysterious dog-headed saint who's Pinocchio story of becoming human will tug at your heartstrings, awaken your sense of wonder, and whose story also acts as a thoughtful commentary to our current cosmic situation of being lost in the margins.

Those interested in supporting this project can do so by visiting the ongoing IndieGoGo campaign. Those who do choose to back the project are privy to several rewards, including a hardcover copy of the novel itself, for $30 USD
