Disgraced Canadian Governor Julie Payette is pushing back against some of the allegations that caused her to resign yesterday.

In a statement, Payette said, "We all experience things differently, but we should always strive to do better, and be attentive to one another’s perceptions."

Payette became the first-ever Governor General to resign yesterday after a scathing report that highlighted the bullying and harassment that she subjected her staff to.

Payette was also under tremendous scrutiny this past summer. Criticism reached a fever pitch after the CBC reported that she had spent nearly $250,000 so that she could have privacy at Rideau Hall, one of her two official residences.

Payette also allegedly publicly humiliate her staff, and the former Astronaut would spot quiz her employees on the planets in the solar system.
