White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany says she was doxxed during the D.C. Black Lives Matter riots which followed the death of George Floyd, the Daily Caller News Foundation reports.
Shortly after assuming her role as Press Secretary in April, McEnany says she would never forget the day police stopped by her home to check up on her, informing her that her address was leaked on social media.
"Hey, I need to check in on you, we heard there were some rioters that were targeting your home," a police officer reportedly told McEnany.
"I had been targeted in that way," McEnany explained.
Leftwing rioters flooded the downtown area of Washington D.C. night after night in late spring and early summer in response to the killing of George Floyd. Rioters caused rampant property destruction throughout the downtown area while clashing with riot police in the streets.
"I lately get three a.m. phone calls from unknown numbers, and listen to the voicemails, and they are targeting, harassing messages," McEnany told the Daily Caller News Foundation.
"It’s really unfortunate. I don’t think anyone deserves that whether you are on the right, whether you are on the left, we should have civility in this country, and it’s unfortunate that just wanting to serve your country means that you’re targeted with threats of that nature," she continued.
Several journalists were targeted and assaulted during the riots, including Fox News reporter Leland Vittert, along with many others.
