A video that has now gone viral shows a woman walking into a convenience store in Kentucky wearing a protective face mask, only she had her's custom tailored to have the mouth piece cut out. Why? Because it made ie easier for her to breathe.
That is not good news for the State of Kentucky which now has over 5,130 coronavirus cases after spiking with an additional 253 over the weekend, according to their Governor Andy Beshear.
“Overall, that number is, again, right around what we’ve been seeing, even though our testing has ramped up,” said the governor. “It suggests, at the worst, we have plateaued.”
The video shows gas station attendant Joe Samaan behind the counter at an S J Food Mart in Lexington, Kentucky. He sees the woman walking around with the new spin on an old classic and begins to record the exchange.
“Where did you get that mask from?” asks Samaan.
“Well, since we have to wear them and it makes it hard to breathe, this makes it a lot easier to breathe,” replies the woman.
“Cutting it?" he replies. "Yeah, I’ll do that too, thanks for the advice.”
The woman then leaves after paying for her gas.
The video which is entitled “Karen Mask,” has already garnered more than 800,000 likes and almost 9,000 comments on TikTok.
