Kid Rock refuses to apologize for drunken rant mocking Oprah, Joy Behar

Kid Rock says he will not apologize for a 2019 drunken rant in which he slammed Oprah and Joy Behar.

Kid Rock has dealt with his fair share of controversy for speaking his mind. In 2019, he was criticized for a drunken rant that took place while on stage in Nashville during which he slammed Oprah and Joy Behar.

In a new episode of Tucker Carlson Originals, Kid Rock was questioned about the rant, who responded by doubling down and saying that he doesn't apologize to anyone.

"A drunk man's words are a sober man's thoughts," Kid Rock told Carlson. "I own what I said."

"I don’t apologize to anybody," he added. "I'm not an Oprah Winfrey fan. I got drunk and f*ckin' next thing, I'm on stage [saying] f*ck Oprah."

In a 2019 tweet, Kid Rock spoke about how his team tried to get him to go on the Oprah Winfrey show 'years ago," and that when Oprah's team wanted him to write down reasons why he loved her and the show, he said "f*ck that and her."

"My people tried to get me to do The Oprah Winfrey show years ago and her people wanted me to write down 5 reasons why I loved her and her show," he tweeted around the time the clip was first released. "I said fuck that and her. End of story."

Kid Rock did say he had one regret about that evening, mixing up Kathy Griffin with Kathie Lee Gifford, who he said he'd been kind of friendly with. "I was trying to go after Kathy Griffin you know, for holding up Trump's head," he explained, "but I'm so out of it I’m like 'f*ck Kathie Lee Gifford!'"

As TMZ reported at the time, he also attacked Joy Behar, whom he had referred to as a "b*tch" on TV in 2018.

In an interview with Fox & Friends at the time, Kid Rock had stated that people need to be "cordial with one another, you know, and just talk about things without going for each other's throats and protests and everything, and God forbid you say something a little bit wrong you're racist, homophobic, Islamophobic this that and the other. People need to calm down, get a little less politically correct. And I would say, you know, you know love everybody except, I would say, screw that. Joy Behar b*tch."

Kid Rock later continued on to say that he apologizes for the language that he said on live tv, but not for the sentiment behind his words.
