Kirk Cameron's California story hour for kids brings MASSIVE crowd after woke library cancelations

At a recent reading at the Placentia Library in Placentia, California, a spokesman for Cameron told The Post Millennial that nearly a thousand people showed up to hear As I Grow, part of the Brave Books Story Hour. Parents and kids waited in the rain outside the library, waiting to get in to hear the reading.

Kirk Cameron has faced nothing but controversy after the publication of his book As I Grow with Brave Books Libraries refused to host readings of the book and haters claimed the Christian values-themed book was hateful. But as soon as Cameron took his book tour on the road, parents and kids began flocking to the events—sometimes at the same public libraries that routinely peddle adult content to kids in the form of Drag Queen Story Hours.

"BRAVE Books and Kirk Cameron will be at Placentia Library for LIVE readings of the most controversial children's books to hit the shelves in 2022 and 2023 'As You Grow!'" Brave Books tweeted. He ended up reading the book five times to accommodate the crowd and the limited space.

Brave Books knows what they are talking about. The book tour for As You Grow has been contentious, to say the least. Cameron and Brave first approached 55 libraries asking if they would host the reading, only to be rejected by all of them. Cameron wrote open letters to the libraries, asking why his reading had been rejected despite those libraries also hosting Drag Queen Story Hours, which in New York City are sponsored by the local City Council.

In response, libraries in both Scarsdale and Indianapolis caved, and Brave rented space to hold the readings. The crowds in both locations overwhelmed the spaces to which they had been allocated.

As You Grow, Cameron told The Post Millennial, "teaches kids biblical wisdom, through the seasons of life and how to grow the fruits of the Spirit, which are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self control."

"You think everybody would be thrilled with something like that," he said, "And so I wanted to do a book reading at a public library, since lots of people like to do those. I was denied by over 55 Zero libraries, which also host Drag Queen Story Hours."

And it turns out that parents are thrilled.

There were hardly any protestors at the Placentia Public Library.

Cameron and Brave Books plan to go to Los Angeles next.
