LeBron James weighs in on Goodyear controversy: 'We don’t bend, fold or break for nobody' (except China)

It should come as now surprise that NBA star and part-time pontificator LeBron James has weighed in on the issue of Goodyear and their distaste at the boardroom level for MAGA and pro-police attire.

It should come as now surprise that NBA star and part time pontificator LeBron James has weighed in on the issue of Goodyear and their distaste at the boardroom level for MAGA hats.

Before we properly start in on LeBron, it’s important to make it clear that Goodyear corporate office absolutely did specifically in a memo allow BLM attire and prohibit MAGA attire, which means a real political bias at Goodyear absolutely exists.

"We don’t bend, fold or break for nobody. So we’re not worried about that. Not only has Goodyear been great for my city, for the history of my city, but the country and what they represented. It’s an unbelievable brand, unbelievable history. We stand strong and always unite, especially my city. We’ve always felt like we’ve been counted out being a small city, and that’s what rallies us even more and makes us even stronger. So shout-out, salute to all the workers, men and women, over the course of their history and to the city of Akron," LeBron said on the issue.

Oh, really, sir? You don’t bend and don’t break?

Let’s refresh your memory, because apparently there are some gaping holes in it.

Last year, you made some comments directed at the Houston Rockets management. These comments were so blatantly pro-China and anti-Hong Kong that even the ultra liberal SF Chronicle took you to task for it.

We’d love to find out by exactly what logic someone can possibly consider it to be “uneducated” to support people in Hong Kong demonstrating by the millions and peacefully against a really oppressive government, yet support Goodyear's bias against the American president and law enforcement.

It’s perfectly acceptable for people to have diverse viewpoints, Mr. James. We don’t expect you to think like we do, or like anybody else does. But the hypocrisy here has reached god-tier proportions and people are starting to wonder what’s up. Why the rage against anybody right of center in the USA, but the massive sympathy for the communist regime half a world away?

Honestly, maybe we are thinking about this in entirely the wrong way. Maybe logic has nothing to do with what’s going on here. Maybe there are some other forces at play causing this massive cognitive dissonance.

We’d love for you to comment on this, Mr. LeBron James. But something tells us you’re not going to do us or anybody else that favour.
