Following the leak of a draft opinion document stating that the Supreme Court will vote to overturn Roe v Wade, many on social media have likened the efforts to stop this process to an "insurrection."
Shortly after the leak broke last night, fences were erected around the the Supreme Court in expectations of protestors. Protestors that gathered on Monday night shouted "fascist scum has got to go" and "we won't go back."

Alluding to those arrested in connection to the riot on Capitol Hill on January 6, Julie Kelly wrote: "Remember: Protesting a constitutionally- mandated proceeding is a felony. Defying the will of a government body is insurrection. Hyperbolic rhetoric on social media is incriminating evidence. People who protest in DC must be imprisoned awaiting trial."

The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh wrote that the leak from within SCOTUS "is an actual insurrection," and an attempt to "incite violence and chaos."

Twitter accounts associated with Antifa members or groups have been calling for violence in the wake of the leak, with some calling for people to "rage and riot" and show up to the homes of Supreme Court Justices.

And if I were betting, I would say a nontrivial portion of "respectable" D.C. will spend the next few months excusing and downplaying it.
On Monday, the Supreme Court confirmed that the leaked draft opinion was authentic, but noted that "it does not represent a decision by the Court or the final position of any member on the issues in the case."
In response to the leak, Chief Justice John Roberts announced that an investigation would be launched into the source of the leak, and that the FBI would be getting involved.
"To the extent this betrayal of the confidences of the Court was intended to undermine the integrity of our operations, it will not succeed," said Roberts in a statement. "The work of the Court will not be affected in any way."
"This was a singular and egregious breach of that trust that is an affront to the Court and the community of public servants who work here. on into the source of the I have directed the Marshal of the Court to launch an investigation into the source of the leak."
