Liberals blame Glenn Youngkin, who's not yet sworn into office, for I-95 traffic jam

Some critics online either impacted or just reacting to the winter weather in the DC region are taking it out on a guy not in office yet.

Governor-elect Glenn Youngkin does not start his term in Virginia until Jan. 15. His Democrat predecessor Ralph Northam is still in office.

On Tuesday evening, Northam updated the general public by saying while there’s still no injuries, state troopers are offering supplies to those still trapped.

As for the I-95 disaster itself, it's a situation that gained a lot of online traction earlier on Tuesday following a tweet by Senator Tim Kaine.

Kaine expected it'd take two hours to drive to DC, but it ended up taking 27 hours for him to complete the trek this time.

According to local reports, a 50-mile portion of Virginia's Interstate 95 experienced a traffic stoppage after multiple trucks collided during a winter snowstorm. Many people don't have food or water in their cars, but they do have pets and children who need those things.

As for who to blame? Some thought Youngkin already took office and that it was his job to call the National Guard.

"Out on a limb here suggesting that, while Republican Governor of Virginia, Glenn Youngkin, couldn’t figure a way to get a 1000 cars off of frozen I-95 for 26 hours, at no time during that disaster, was CRT taught in his state. Virginia Proud."

As for what Youngkin did Tuesday, he had a meeting with Maryland Governor Larry Hogan to plan how the pair of them can work together to cooperate on mutual regional issues.
