Two employees of a Little Caesars Pizza location in Ohio have been fired after they served up a pizza that had a swastika on it shaped out of pepperonis, according to WSAZ News.

A couple stopped into the Little Caesars on Saturday night to order a pizza and they were shocked at what they saw once they opened the box, a pepperoni swastika, that happened to be backwards.

Jason and Misty Laska bought the pizza from a Little Caesars on Smith Road in Brook Park, Ohio.

“It’s not funny. It’s not funny. Especially with everything going on in the world right now,” said Jason Laska. The couple tried calling the location the night they ordered but weren't able to reach anyone. Instead, they took a photo of the pizza and posted it to social media.

“The point is there should not be this kind of hate happening today. With the climate we’re in right now, why make a joke like that?” said Misty Laska.

“We’re trying to solve hate, and even if this was just a joke internally for the employees, just stop. Stop with the symbolism, and let it go away,” said Jason Laska who wants the employees to be held accountable.

In response to their post on social media, Little Caesar Enterprises, Inc. fired the two employees responsible for the incident and released a statement, writing, “We have zero tolerance for racism and discrimination in any form, and these franchise store employees were immediately terminated. We’re deeply disappointed that this happened, as this conduct is completely against our values. We have also reached out to the customer to discuss this personally with him.”
